I agree entirely. As a botanist, I would never eat a fruit unless I was certain of its ID, or trusted a local person who offered it to me. In Borneo, I ate a lot of fruit that was not familiar, but I trusted my friends not to give me something toxic.

That's a handy skill! I studied Biology to A level so may have a little more insight than the average guy and I'd never try anything like that! Not sure if accurate, but advice I was given says to rub a little juice on the skin & wait 4 hrs, if safe, then a little on a lip, wait 4, taste it, wait 4
