If you read ProPublica’s story about the 3M chemist who “discovered” that PFAS chemicals persistently bioaccumulate this no longer seems at all far fetched.
(She was in fact set up by her boss, who knew, and took retirement to leave her holding the bag. Monumental asshole.)
