Stirling is very nice, with the restored Great Hall where Mary Stuart was crowned. Edinburgh Castle is great. Near Glasgow is Doune Castle, where Python's Holy Grail was filmed. It's on our list to see this year.

Last worldcon there we did two daytrips to Edinburgh via train. Only had time for the Royal Mile, but saw the castle and Holyrood. There was a nice cafe outside Holyrood with apple pie made from apples from the Royal estates. Mary King's close is a must see.

The cathedral is nice, and check out the necropolis on the hill behind it. Tons of stone Celtic Crosses, which I realized all dated to the "Celtic Twilight" revival.

I tried to contact the opinion page editor to complain, but I can't find any contact or email address for her. So instead I sent a blistering email to the main editor account (editorial@nytimes.com) complaining about the waste of space.

Talking about privileged white guy. People have died for that right to vote. People fight organized disenfranchisement today and yet here he is with his head too stuck up his rear to care about voting. I live in a state & county where my vote means nothing, but I still vote in every election.

LBJ deserves the condemnation for Vietnam, but his whole life was about finding and acquiring power. Once he had it, he shocked everyone by using it for good. Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights, Medicaid, Great Society programs, etc. Sadly overshadowed in his life by the Vietnam disaster he did.

I watched it when it was originally on. I'm not THAT old ;) It was only cancelled because they had cancelled Gunsmoke, the favorite show of the Chairman's wife. So to find room to put Gunsmoke back on the schedule they cancelled Gilligan, a much better show.

I've read their suit. The finance professor even states that his TAs must dress according to their birth gender, and specifically can't wear dresses, makeup, etc. No word about women wearing pants rather than dresses or skirts. I'm shocked they're from UT and not my school, A&M.

He also needs a lesson in manners. You don't have to agree with the pronouns someones wants used in reference to them, but it's just plain good manners. To do otherwise is rude. One would hope by the time you're faculty you're learned the basics of manners. Your Momma didn't raise you right.

"I will not allow a male teaching assistant to wear a dress or high heals or any type of drag attire while working for me." Ok, so does that mean women can't wear pants? They must be in dresses or skirts at all time? Otherwise, he is arbitrarily enforcing different stds based on their gender.

So what's happened is, he's taken a native tuber and rather than use the Westron name, has substituted "potato" so modern readers can better identify it. Just as "shire" as been substituted for "suza," "halfling" rather than "banakil," and Hobbit rather than "kuduk." 2/2
