Tree Swallow, notice the feather tufts in front of the eyes. Presumably to keep bugs and such from damaging the eyes. I'd like to see some slow-mo video to see how these operate in flight so that the birds can see where they are going! Anchorage #Alaska #Birds

A pair of Flightless Steamer-Ducks. The last time I passed through Tierra del Fuego I had only poor looks at Steamer-Ducks and couldn't tell if they were Flightless or Flying. Much better looks this time and all I could identify were Flightless.
