the biggest barrier is the resources needed to do this at any kind of scale don't really exist on the far left at the moment and that it'd take a really long time because you have to build it from, like, local city councils and school boards before even going for state legislature seats.

the majority of electoral districts in the US are effectively single-party districts, so the "split the votes and Rs win" argument doesn't hold as much downballot as it does with POTUS elections, so i actually do think this could be viable if the party doing it is smart enough at district targeting

I don't drink super often but the thing about being a social worker is that every now and then you have a week where you gotta get absolutely plastered to deal with the stress and sometimes you just end up in a bar hammered listening to the doors at 6 PM and it's one of those weekends
