Looking at the correlation between Altmetric score and citations would get at the question more directly and would allow for a larger sample size but doesn't seem like it would produce a dramatically different result?

So the metric of whether the article received Twitter attention was based on if you tweeted the article? Wouldn't Altmetric be a better way to test for a correlation between tweets as reported by Altmetric vs. citations? The control articles were presumably tweeted by others?
