We met with Professor Haven Kiers, Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at UC Davis to talk about the UC Davis Sheepmowers Project. Every 3-4 weeks, 25 sheep are allowed to graze in a fenced 1-acre lawn area on central campus over a period of 3 days. ๐

Recent study shows cattle personality traits can manifest on rangelands. For two summers, cattle grazing patterns were tracked using fitted GPS collars. By understanding cattle personalities, herds can be distributed on rangelands that match their personality type.
