We're really enjoying just straight dates. 3-5 a day was enough to get my GF regular again. Does't seem to bother me at all. I don't normally like fruit or sweet things but these are delicious and fairly cheap at the local Ocean State Job Lots.

Looks like that meta analysis looked up curcumin (tumeric), cranberry, garlic, liquorice and broccoli Sounds like it would make for a really tasty lentil and rice dish.

Ah! Didn't think about looking up concentrates and tonics like that. I've used stuff from the Vermont Country Store in the past with good effect, in particular their Elderberry & Blueberry.

Looks like they have a cranberry one. I'll have to pick it up.

GF's fever broke an hour ago so I am less scared now. Hopefully it doesn't come back.

Kefir, Garlic Honey, Fire Cider, A customized lung tea mix as well as a 'tummy tea' mix that helps with Crohn's symptoms. Today we will be trying to get sources of Zinc (Oysters, Tofu) and making sure we are stocked up on stuff above as well as some authentic Dijon Mustard to get TRPA1 activation.

The gist of our treatment so far is fairly similar to what I did the last time we caught it in Burlington a couple summers ago. I will be reviewing my tweets on that later today, but for the time being we are mostly focusing on avoiding the fever effects.

Prediction: They are going to have users publish content on the platform and then use that as an excuse to mine their user's funding as a signal for look-a-like audience generation and give patrons an option to let people watch content for ad views.

The mom will be getting Paxlovid if she can. She had that last time and it seemed to help. www.paxlovid.com

But she may not qualify since there is a 5 day window for using it...

GF and I are on our own.

From my time working on this space I know that the antigen tests can sometimes give false positives and that it is good to get a follow up PCR. Even says so in the instructions. So once she had a positive stick, they contacted a local hospital and got a PCR test. Not sure the results yet.

This is a screenshot of a conversation I did yesterday just before falling asleep. I had stayed up for 24 hours working on the AI project and just found out the mom was feeling crappy today. She'd not told anyone she had a fever for 4 days. :/

The mom is fully vaccinated and up-to-date. In fact due to her having an autoimmune disorder and being +65, she has had all the double boosters too.

This is the third time she's had immune escape.

GF's mom got a positive Covid Antigen Test and now GF has a fever and is coughing. I got a sore throat. So I guess I'm making a thread about how we are treating it. I am not a doctor.

Something to explore. The fiber and seeds from dates may have an impact. This is good for constipation too.

Happy to be experimenting with the [[Bluesky API]] :) I'm using Python as much as I can with the [[atproto]] library managing abstraction. Back in Twitter land I had to 'fall back' to straight http requests eventually, let's see how this library fares? How are you today/tonight?

I can tolerate almost anything now, haven't had Crohn's since an FMT a couple of years ago. The fasting thing I spoke of upthread did let me do kombucha and sauerkraut if I wasn't flairing.

Took me a bit of time to be able to tolerate most fermented foods due the mucus problems in Crohn's. Was easier to dilute the apple cider acids (technically a fermented food, bacteria make acetic acid) down to levels that didn't give me bad constipation/diarrhea cycles.

IIRC Interestingly the things i was reading about h pylori treatment ended up being a near perfect mirror of the "detox/weight loss" tonic stuff online.
www.drberg.com/blog/make-yo... so might be worth exploring, but would be best to get a doctor's advice.

Seems to be an autism/IBD related pain sensitivity quirk, but it would be hard to predict. Thankfully it worked but I didn't think it would be worth repeating.

Aside from the excessive red wine being a risk, something I found after the fast was I didn't have any pain sensation in my throat. I was having gerd but didn't know it. This also meant the apple cider could have been burning me and I wouldn't have known.

If the active H pylori can be dislodged and then afterward prevent it from growing back using cranberry, other things can out-compete it. The tricky part is trying to pevent it from making the acid protectant biofilm long enough for other things to get in and kill it off.

But I think if I were to do it again I would try to talk with a Natruopathic Doctor about using Senna as part of a larger regimen. It has the resveratrol content that I got from the redwine, and can also cause GI emptying effect.

The typical way of approaching it is using antibiotics, but that can be pretty harsh on the gut. I went with dilute apple cider vinegar + Lemon, some cranberry juice concentrate (no added sugar) and then followed it up with a lot of red-wine and fasting. TBH this method wasn't really safe.

The hardest part with H pylori is that it will enter the gastric crypts and block itself from anything that will kill it because it is really good at making an acid-protectant biofilm. I hit mine with mulit-pronged approach targeting it's life-cycle. Tho I am not sure if my method was a good idea.
