I'd love to see every pet owner with a law degree dedicate a small allotment of pro bono hours to the plaintiffs in this case. Same with pet loving PR reps, to make sure there is no such thing as a low information juror out there anywhere. In summation: (clears throat)...fuck those guys. [end]

Their history of unethical behavior, even compared to other insurers (which is sort of like "history of shading the truth, even for politicians"), is egregious. It seems this time they might have crossed a big enough and bright enough line to face actual consequences. (At least I hope so!) 🧵

This behavior from Nationwide is not new. They are a chronic offender in their pet division. (Full disclosure: I threatened to sue them in the past, and ended up with the small consolation of refunded premiums...which did help pay for my dog's cremation at least.) 🧵

I can't wait for this lawsuit to hit! These folks paid steep premiums on healthy pets for YEARS to ensure continuous coverage. Now they are being selectively dropped when old age and health problems hit.

Always Be Closing speech is maybe the least interesting part of the movie. It's not part of the play, was only added for the screenplay to help spoonfeed exposition to the audience (and to flesh out the runtime a bit).

Opposite experience! It's the first thing I see when I open the app. It autoplays the trailer if I don't scroll fast enough. It's a suggestion in EVERY category except continue watching. (because I watched Amadeus? Really?) They even sent me two reminder emails!

You'd think in the era of streamer mentality ("I want my entertainment on *my* schedule, dagnabbit!") that we'd be less attached to opening weekend numbers. Personally, I've been kind of hyped to see this one. Which translates to I'll get there sometime in the first two (or maybe three) weeks.

Unsurprisingly, there are whole chunks of the movie I did not remember at all. And the parts that had lodged in my brain for all these years were exclusively the cringiest moments. I can move off of "you'd have to pay me to watch", I think it's only to "fun bad, not bad bad."

Thanks! This is news to me. I'd only ever seen till used as in "to till the soil" and (I mistakenly thought) as a misspelled abbreviation of until. Seems like it actually went from til to till to until (in variations)! Very cool.

I think one of the worst quirks of online spaces is the idea that if someone doesn't post about something, they don't care about it. It encourages performative posting often makes things worse. I care a lot. I just don't want to add another poorly-informed voice. I'm reading & thinking.
