That we've come to a place in the Democratic Party where we can't defeat a serial liar, convicted felon, and rapist is the real problem. If the party can not see this as an indictment on the Democratic Party, they will never change and forever run out of step politicians.

I believe Biden will lose if he doesn't step down. It's not just the debate performance. Trump predicted Biden's 'sleepiness,' and Biden confirmed it w/ the performance. To independents that is enough to doom the candidacy, because like all bullies, Trump will hammer it home until November.

Closing your mind to those with a different interpretation of political reality is exactly what Biden is doing. All of us have the same goal, and that is to prevent Trump from taking office again. There is no reason to 'draw lines in the sand.'

What is necessary is Trump losing so the plutocrats do not have a clear opportunity to change the democratic mechanisms which allow change. Biden, at this point, is a hindrance, both short term and long term, toward that goal.

The right has been tightening the screws on the plutocratic state for decades. They're not likely to change their long term strategy for overt fascism because Trump is elected. Though I'll grant that with a despot at the helm they're likely to be more aggressive in closing the doors to change.

Democratic Party needed a buff and wax job anyway. We all knew Biden only had a single term horizon, so why all the concern? I wouldn't have chosen Kamala in an open primary battle, but would have still preferred her over Biden. She should and will invigorate a party sadly in need of joy juice.

When the GOP slashed taxes on the richest Americans, the Clintons rolled over and surrendered the poor for suburban votes and identity politics. Only worked out for the Clintons and their acolytes such as Biden and Pelosi. The poor got poorer. If Biden doesn't resign, they win again.
