So hard to see someone you love going through this. My father had mild vascular dementia too - he lost spacial awareness and many skills, but he kept his personality and the ability to hold a conversation right up to the end. Such a horrible disease.

My partner has mixed Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. He still manages day to day stuff, but we no longer have an equal relationship. I'm his carer - in his mind, as well as mine. He answers questions, tells stories form his childhood, but we no longer have conversations. He is not who he was.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at just how ready they are to hit the ground running. Daughter ( not interested in politics until now) impressed that there clearly is a plan in place. I hope lots of others feel the same.

I think there comes a point when people just want change- perhaps because after a certain amount of time governments become complacent and careless. What I don’t understand is why it takes so long to chuck bad governments out.

I suspect it’s a mixture- some simply a protest vote- sick of Tories, frightened of Labour; some out and out racists ; some ( Brexiters) just still angry, feeling they are not heard and have no prospects. Some just fall for Farage’s ‘voice of reason’ act.

Reform seem to have run an effective campaign on TikTok, and also may, I suspect be gaining votes because of Farage's "boys will be boys" messaging. Hopefully those who vote in real elections will be a bit wiser.🤞
