A bears grandpa survived 2ish years during WWII stealing potatoes and camping in the mountains. He barely survived. Hated every minute. Never wanted to go back to his home country after immigrating due to the trauma. :/

None of us silly Americans are ready. That said - let me tap the “Strong Ties” & “Mutual Aid” signs again. You can practice & familiarize yourself with skills our ancestors always had. For ex I have found learning to knit 🧶 the tiniest & most powerful source of hope.
