I feel like adapting Hellboy to live action is a fool's errand. Mignola's draughtsmanship is fundamentally graphic in nature; it relies on linework and tonality (not to mention his pacing and composition) that you cannot replicate in live action without basically making a cartoon
Yeah I had that thought. Stopped watching the trailer halfway through because although I am sold on a supernatural horror movie starring hellboy, the trailer was completely uninteresting.
Hell of a thing for a trailer to suck in a way that makes you wanna watch the movie unironically.
Like this is actually the nicest expression of Hellboy's humanity that I've seen so far; the biggest problem is some absolute nobody playing Tom, while the role screams for a stunt casting (call fucking Matt Smith, he's in the folk horror trenches right now)
