‘Undersells’? What i mean is a bunch of people at both ends of a media ecosystem can all work themselves into an alternate reality collective belief without some kind of “outside agitators” doing a covert propaganda to them

I think that articulates what I feel like I'm seeing? A bunch of GoP flacks say "Biden should drop out" and despite taking their advise obviously being bad, both centrists and leftists decide to agree for different reasons because of our own anxieties.

For me the most front-loaded frustrating aspect of it is that any attempt, any at all, to offer context or historical analogy or suggest that stepping back and not screaming might help, just puts me in the Screamed-At category. Guess I'll say something when it seems it might do some good.
