The Washington Supreme Court has recently taken to apologizing for bad decisions reached in previous times. It seems to make some people nervous because it somehow signals courts can be wrong.

But the nation was founded in part on the idea that courts can be wrong. I do want my State Supreme Court to do justice in ways beyond what my first grader can understand. However I ALSO want it to do justice in ways my first grader can understand, like saying sorry and doing better.
