Jeffrey Katzenberg was such a dick about trying to block access that the LA Times printed a map with instructions about how to legally park in front of his beach house and cross his land to get to the beach, which was hilarious.

I seem to recollect that Seal Beach in S. Cali was easy to access. But that was a long time ago.

Farther north in Cali, most of the parking is absolutely free, too, just wide expansive lots where you can leave your car all day and go enjoy the (free, public) beach
