Agricultural production is about 1/8 of total emissions. When you add in forestry and land-use change (much caused by agricultural expansion) you are up to 1/4 of total emissions. Adding in fossil CO2 emissions for energy use in food supply chains & methane from landfilled food waste gets to 1/3.

Food systems and climate change are a two-way street: they are a key driver of climate change but also incredibly vulnerable to climate change. Thus, mitigation and adaptation are both crucial. Luckily, there are a lot of solutions, many of which achieve mitigation and adaptation at the same time 👍🏼
