i mean like thats what the whole thread is about? the people in charge right now have overseen the largest degradation of rights for women, lgbtq+ folx, immigrants, &c, and have only offered "please vote for the 900 year old lich so we'll do something this time" and its not enough for me any longer

TL:DR—Learn some basic civics, especially about federalism & grow a fucking spine. Because if we lose things are likely to get far, far worse for a very long time.

My state Democratic Party has strengthened protections for trans people & insurance coverage for gender affirming care. My state is far from the only one where this is the case. Passing progressive legislation at the federal level is a lot harder for a # of structural reasons arising from the 1/
