I feel a type of way when i see agents and editors go “you know what i struggle to find” and it’s expressly some genre mash up that people have been repeatedly discouraged to do bc “how do you market it” Like no hate just frustration lol

'why is no one sending me the thing that I specifically told people wouldn't sell. Why are they only sending me the stuff that is already over saturating the market because that's the only thing getting promoted. Such a mystery'

For every quirky agent request they can't seem to find, there are several self-published novels covering that exact thing doing great after being rejected for that thing. Or you get rejected for being too hard to market only to see that thing blow up later 🥲
