Were the Sex Pistols a stunt act assembled by promoters? Clearly Other than being assembled by promoters were they a boy band by any recognizable metric for such? Not by my reckoning

My memory is hazy but I don't recall the members of the Sex Pistols getting the teen heartthrob treatment from Tiger Beat, Creem, or other publications at the time
