I think I know what you mean. S3 has a lot of filler and a lot of flashbacks. Not a lot new happens other than Sugar having her baby and a long talk with her mom. (That scene was the most intense this season.)

I can’t imagine there’s a big number of voters who want to end overtime and raise the retirement age. Trump is not going to talk about these things at rallies. But they put it all right in their plan. And this is the stuff they’re willing to talk about in public.

Note that drone light shows are potentially much cheaper than fireworks shows. St Paul canceled its annual fireworks show a few years ago because it couldn’t justify spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on it every year. You can reuse drones, but you can’t reuse fireworks.

I’m sorry to report that I have become one of those old guys who hates the noise of fireworks. I can’t say it’s because of my dog, because I don’t have one. I say let’s bring on the age of drone light shows instead. It just makes sense.

I try to resist speculating on why he wanted to keep the documents (the charges don’t say anything about motive, so I assume there isn’t much evidence he wanted to sell them) but he did try very hard to keep them. Can’t help but suspect the worst.

In his 2008 Heller opinion — the one that established a personal right to firearms — Justice Scalia specifically said the right is not unlimited. He noted that one day the court might have to decide what *kinds* of firearms, etc. This majority had a chance to make a sensible decision, and blew it.

Many American families have someone who got into trouble with drugs. It's hard for everyone. I don't know all the details of why Thomas chose to wash his hands of this boy, but I can't help but contrast it to how Joe and Jill Biden never stopped loving Hunter.

I saw them in 2019 at Rock the Garden and a couple years ago at the Palace. Billy doesn’t move around much anymore, but he plays well and still has that grin. John and DJ sound great. Exene thankfully kept her Alex Jonesisms offstage. She always was a weirdo.

If you hit "Skip Intro" at the beginning of an episode of "Twin Peaks," what are you even doing? If I ran a streaming video service, I'd make it so that the "Skip Intro" button on "Twin Peaks" just popped up a screen that said, "Sorry, this show isn't for you" and started streaming something else.

Weirder than that. It was no relation to the VU. It was in small town Kentucky in the early 70s and they attracted an audience to a little festival by saying the VU was playing. My aunt and her friend were some of the very few people in a 200 mile radius who had heard of the VU
