Curious thought. With Texas forcing porn sites to KYC, and with Elon Musk allowing porn on Twitter, is the Texas AG going to force it to KYC? Or would that be political taboo? Rules for thee but not for me?

Ah, I thought you were talking about servers. For workstations, I switched to a Mac. Allows me to have a life outside of computers. And no BSoD!

Personally, I’d prefer Linux as it has a much better level of control when hardening the OS. However, both are exploitable.

Trying to fact check that source since it was a long time ago, I couldn’t find it. But I did find a bunch of Hello Kitty emotional support groups on Facebook. … so, yeah…

I’d argue that the open source software was what saved them. The Microsoft engineer who found the issue was able to look at the code and ask questions. The same can’t be said about closed source software. The number of eyes on those platforms is much smaller.

I lost faith in privacy when I heard that Facebook was correlating the liking of Hello Kitty to emotional instability. If people are reading tea leafs to figure you out, you have no privacy.
