i used to fly years ago and it is nice and quiet when the engine stops. asked the instructor what the deal was if there was an engine failure at night. ' head for the darkest spot. at 200ft turn on landing light. like what you see?- leave landing light on. don't like what you see?-turn it off'.

years ago a medically retired ( pacemaker) ex deer recovery pilot was doing an inter island microlight delivery with another microlight guy. partway across the strait keith waved at his mate...and accidentally hit the kill switch. no starter on a microlight eh. so only one thing he could do 1/2

otoh around 7000 ppl signed a petition *against* lowering the speed limit on a notorious stretch of SH6 here ( Nsn/Bln ) from 100km/h to 80kmh. a few have already taken simeons lead and are speeding at the old 100km/h max limit.

this is another reason why i don't quote for work. even a ballpark guess is hazardous- my last ballpark i was out by $25k ( client was happy all the same :). weird thing is i never use a timer for baking etc. put the bread in and something makes me go to the oven and take it out when ready.

i made new sashes and fitted them to the existing frames for this villa a few years back. i fit draft seals at the same time and fix rot etc. this type of window is actually ideal for double glazing btw. best comment from client ' kid's aren't getting sick during winter anymore'
