Would definitely put the "exciting" back in the "exciting and new" from the Love Boat Theme song.

And it's based on hearing their grandparents' stories about what it was like during the 1968 protest movement.

I know in Massachusetts part of our fee (which I believe is $350/yr) goes to the Client Restoration Fund. About 20 years ago, it was discovered a lawyer had stolen millions from his clients and all of us just knew the BBO fee was going to jump to cover that. (I think it went up a $100/yr)

$404 seems rather excessive to begin with. What exactly are lawyers doing down there that requires the fee to be that high?

Now, I'm not saying I'm old, but, I'm slightly older than the game and started playing it when AD&D was just starting out (about 3-4 years after the main AD&D books were released). The big difference where the introduction of races as separate from classes & the X/Y axis for alignment.

@cjciaramella.bsky.social has a love letter to D&D's community in celebration of the game's 50th anniversary. While I'm not a fan of how they've tweaked the rules since the 3rd edition (Bring back THACO!), the basic idea underpinning it makes for glorious fun.

You know it's bad when he's lost Chris Rufo. It's probably time for Abbott to reevaluate his life choices.

There is something to be said for dealing with the devil you know. I remember a lot of people being really happy when Jeff Sessions was out as AG believing no one could be worse. Then Bill Barr took over & enabled anything & everything up until attempt to overthrow of the US government by Trump.

I think a special shout has to also go the people who thought the worst possible thing was to have Harriet Miers on the SCOTUS Bench. After all, it was only after she withdrew her name from consideration that W picked Alito.

"[I]t’s clear that Voyager 1 will shortly have to cut contact and make its way out across the universe on its own. It’s strange to think that it will be exploring on out into deep space long after its makers — humans — have become extinct."

This is what was used by the Confederate as a flag to announce the end of the fighting. They literally threw in the towel

I'm surprised Trump didn't have a rally in Eagle Pass, complaining about the eclipse coming in from Mexico and ending with him looking directly at the eclipse and shouting at it to go away and when it does, take credit for bringing back the sun.

Just got an Emergency Alert on my smartphone about the Earthquake. Without the government, who would warn us of earthquakes... 25 minutes after they happened?

USGS has it as a 4.7/4.8 (it keeps changing). Felt like the rumble of a subway train. Very odd experience.
