Too many people just don’t understand this, you don’t have the power you think you do.

I genuinely think that ppl who say they are “boycotting” an election are really just too lazy to register to vote.

Boycotting an election isn't like refusing to spend your money at store. it's like giving your money to someone else to spend at the store.

you do have the power you think you do, and abdicating it in a childish tantrum because you reject nuance is a dick move because it causes us all to suffer under MOTHERFUCKING FASCISM

There is no difference between a person who sits out an election to protest genocide and a person who sits out an election to protest, say, child labor laws

One of the major problems with boycotting the vote is that US voter participation is nowhere near the point where anyone would consider you anything but someone who's just too lazy to vote! www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...

Some folks don't want power, and not voting is a perfectly acceptable method of abrogating it. Voting isn't as important as you think it is.

It's absolutely asinine to think the end result could possibly be the Democrats deciding that they now need to be more progressive in order to court the margin of error.

Voting in elections is like steering a ship. You're not changing locations in one move of the wheel, you're just choosing a direction. If it's been going the wrong way for a while, correcting it will take time. If you don't vote, the ship keeps going, but you simply have no influence at all.

I don't think that sends quite the message to the people you are trying to reach that you think it is sending.

yeah, you don't have a lot of power, only not voting isn't going to change things because voting is simply harm reduction at best
