I think the choice here is between someone who cares about people and is putting pressure on Israel to do the same versus someone who will let any nation do whatever they want to anyone so long as it benefits or at least doesn't affect him personally (not USA). Which is better for what you want?

Yeah there are definitely benefits. Germany is very friendly and outgoing. Other places not so much. OTOH, those tours you recommended would have helped too. Had some buds from CZ join for the game which was great. Hit Mühler, Sion, Peters, Pfaffen, Fruh, and Schreckenskammer.

It's kind of awkward to travel alone in these places. Nice people all over the place but feel like I'm imposing on them to have a conversation. Had a lovely one with a couple last night though over a Haxe and Kölsches last night at Schreckenskammer. Another great place.
