Beltway journos will never see themselves as anything but above-it-all even though they are as inside as it gets. They choose sides even as they say "both-sides". They know what they're doing. They just think they'll not suffer any consequences. Lot of journos learned the hard way after 1933.

they're oblivious to the over-arching bias from consolidated center-right billionaire media ownership, oblivious to how modern propaganda works, oblivious to being routinely gamed by bad actors, oblivious to how ad engagement has distorted coverage, and oblivious to the harms of authoritarianism
