As the Tories are now funding stuff from ‘clamping down on tax avoidance’, can we ask how much is there in this handy piggy bank? Where have they been hiding it until now and why not use it to improve public services for all rather than paying for tax cuts for a few?
So called "clamping down on tax avoidance" is nonsense. Tax avoidance is perfectly legal.
If they mean "removing the tax breaks they gave to rich people" then I just can't ever see them doing that.
Sounds like a meaningless statement made to sound like something that won't be done, will be done.
The Tories have given their mates a 13 year, clear run to avoid tax payments, so this is a heads-up to them that the gravy-train is coming to an end.
(A sub-conscious admission that defeat is coming).
