They released another album (not as good) before frontman and songwriter Ross Flournoy broke them up and formed Apex Manor, which had a decent debut album but then went off in another direction. But those first two releases are some of my absolute favorites from the 2000s.

I listen to a ton of indie power pop and for years the most-covered song by these artists was Big Star's "Thirteen" (I must have a dozen covers of it in my iTunes) but coming on strong of late is The Zombies' "This Will Be Our Year".

With no Euros to watch today, I've been playing Ron Sexsmith albums on Spotify on my home audio system and I'm not sure there's a singer/songwriter more consistent, in both a good and bad way. Good in that almost every song is a winner but bad in that there aren't that many that are stone classics.

2002 World Cup win over Portugal in which they went up 3-0 in the first half against a pre-tournament favorite, the only time I’ve seen them run rampant over quality competition. Held on to win 3-2 and ended up in the quarters. 22 years later still the peak.
