i can't stop thinking about how few people are in a position to survive waiting this long with no income and a disability on board, and how it'd *save the government money* to dismantle the SSDI bureaucracy and approve every single application

meanwhile, the projected payout is so low and the limitations on other income/assets are so strict that there's a real question of whether it's even worth it to stay on SSDI if i get approved. every time my parents look at long-term finances for me, the rules of SSDI are a huge impediment.
