In research on censorship we call that the Early Adopter Effect, that the 1st adopters of new information technologies always included those who were being silenced under older systems, thus including the most feared voices & making them suddenly disproportionately loud. This is my current research

We see this in all stages, from the printing press pamphlet wars of the 1500s, to radical early radio, to the use of the mimeograph/ditto machine by radical groups ranging from civil rights groups & LGBT communities to the KKK.
