Some locals have tried for that pronunciation but the rest of us Hoosiers were ‘nah bra, that there is a chewed on bone’

Uh, my grandparents lived in Brown County just outside of Bean Blossom (which is around the way from Gnaw Bone) and I assure you, it is not pronounced that way.
