the conservative movement's roots is an alliance of business interests livid about the new deal, southern racists livid about the civil rights movement, and church ladies livid about the sexual revolution. scotus will continue unabated until they've rolled all those back (or democrats stop them)

I've been tracking this for a couple of years, an atom bomb just went off. They can use this to dismantle so much of the progress we've made over the past half century. This undoes so many very hard won fights. It's really heartbreaking if you think about it.

Maybe the show runners have less to work with in bringing the characters to life? GoT had a lot of wit to it. This feels flat. I’m not currently subscribed to Max, so I would need to make an affirmative choice to watch. This doesn’t do it for me the way Succession did, for example.

Ah yes, also a very Wisconsin moment. As the 49 year old dad of a 16 and 18 year old, I can relate strongly. I've used those 10 minutes I drive them to school every morning well. XTC and Pixies are probably the two bands that have been listened to most frequently.

This was mine from last year, same scenario. F.M.E. stands for "Fuck Myron Ebell." He's the guy from the Competitive Enterprise Institute that NPR used to bring on to cast doubt on climate change. He must have been on my mind. I wonder how many more of us dads are out there!

I'd been a freelancer or self-employed since 1999, a few weeks ago I applied for a job and I got it. So I'm headed back to an office for the first in 25 years on Tuesday. And it really has changed the flavor of this weekend for me, it's weird.

And 90s Nikons... honestly any Nikon that isn't a 'F' or that doesn't have the FM/FE/FA/FE2 chassis is ridiculously undervalued. Things like the N8008 or N2020 just fly below the radar. I have a Nikkormat EL also and it's almost interchangeable with my FE apart from the lack of indexing.
