Watching the GOP reaction to the Supreme Court's "immunity" decision has been instructive.
These folks don't "fear" Trump, as we've been told.
They want a dictator. They may personally despise him and his smell. But he's their best shot at fascism.

"The reason Trump asked for "immunity" is he cannot prove his innocence in any of the four felony trials he's facing." Well, he's not required to prove his innocence. But unfortunately for him, the prosecution is having no difficulty proving his guilt.

The Insurrectionist Court took a gamble on #PresidentialImmunity and has won bigly. They gambled that #Biden would be too frozen in his ways to use the horrific #officialact powers. 😵 Biden has already said that he won't even though 👹 Biden also states Trump will. There is no #DarkBrandon.

I’ve always said his biggest appeal is to people who WANT to be bossed around and dominated - and a dude who played a boss on TV that lets them know it’s ok to hate immigrants fits that bill nicely.

Absolutely! Hegemonic masculinity, a key foundation of far-right movements, is built on a belief in a rigid gendered hierarchy. GOP voters *want* to be ruled and feel it's natural. In return they get the promise that they will dominate others (men over women, straight over gay, etc).
