The estimated economic impact of Anthrocon this year is 17.5 million dollars. The city of Pittsburgh will not be OK with AC just going away because of some BS legislation.

The more I watch Bluey the more I'm convinced that it's not made for kids. I feel it's made for Gen-Xers with childhood trauma and disguised as a kids show because we have difficulty with the idea of getting therapy from mental health professionals but we've no problem getting it from a cartoon dog.

The problem is some of the "responses" are an insidious form of disguised misogyny, racism, etc. "All Lives Matter" is meant to sound good on the surface, since all life is important, but it's really a racist dog whistle. It's not dilution, it's a racist rallying cry. "Not All Men" is similar.

Knowing that it's ok to be different. That it's ok to find people of all genders attractive (from a distance, I am married LOL). That it's ok to not follow the norms of your gender. Not only that it's ok, but not having to hide it. Being able to say: This is who I am and I'm ok with that.

I feel like I don't fit in anymore either, but I've also realized that I dont have to. The fandom is what you make it and we can make our own way. There's also a lot more greymuzzzles now then then there was when we were pups.
