I'm pleased that most professional journos I've heard/read have weighed in with the same sentiment. CNN abdicated its own vow to act in keeping with its stated standards. The debate was many things, and one of them was a failure of journalism.

Love you, Angie, but if they'd taken up Biden's time by arguing with Trump over lies, you'd have had the same reaction today only with "and also the media tried to save him." CNN was there to ask questions and keep the clock, not be Joe's second chair. COME AT ME BRO :D

That’s when Biden should’ve pulled out. Allowing a liar to barrage the other person with a fire hose of lies while the moderators just sit there isn’t a debate. It’s a shitty reality show.
