The Bay Area Air Quality Management District says Spare the Air, don't drive, don't grill outside. PG&E says grill outside to keep your house cooler. The NWS told SF Gate people should drive to the coast to stay cooler. Get on the same page, people. This is gonna be a regular thing.

Someone explain to me how a weather site shows a town will reach a high of 72°, which an inch away it shows a current temp of 77°. I'm no programming genius, but you'd think a wee bit of coding magic would catch that.

Sat in the salon chair today, got my hair freshly purpled, talked about my stylist's Hawaiian vacation and my trip to Boston, and for almost two hours the world felt kind of safe and normal.

For some years, my former colleagues on the right tried to argue that I had brain worms if I would break a friendship or even a close relationship over Trumpism. I replaced "trump" with "david duke" and asked them to reconsider. That usually ended the discussions.

It's important at times like these to do work that matters. Volunteer or paid, doesn't matter - something that makes you feel you're contributing to the good. And: someone to care for. Kids, pets, other loved ones. Someone to *be* for. Good luck to all of us.

I keep thinking of people who have kids. How do you explain this? How do you protect them? They already had climate change to deal with, while we're safely dead. How to pile this on top of them? "Sorry, your country is dying. We gave it a good go, though."
