Love you, Angie, but if they'd taken up Biden's time by arguing with Trump over lies, you'd have had the same reaction today only with "and also the media tried to save him." CNN was there to ask questions and keep the clock, not be Joe's second chair. COME AT ME BRO :D

I think Biden’s prep/performance was the result of a failure of imagination. Even Dem party elite won’t fully admit Trump is as odious as he is, and they continue letting him slide. Open every answer with “the convicted felon just lied to you…”

Don't know if you saw my other point : if the onus is on the responder to rebut, the debate structure failed. You need more than one minute to rebut two full minutes of lies.

I'd have gone with: ask Trump a question, let Trump lie his ass off for the alloted time, then kill his mic and say "Every word of that was a lie and we'll expand on that in our post-debate factcheck. Next question for President Biden:"
