This 💯
Where were all these dems with their concerns about his age and acuity before primary season?
Also, you know if the roles were reversed every republican would be in lockstep talking about “everyone has an off night” and changing the subject reading off the same script
So frustrating
Exactly. So sick of the Dems’ circular firing squad approach to everything. Their reaction is likely more responsible for any change in polls than the debate itself.
Prior to a week ago, every time somebody brought up the idea of replacing Biden because he was too old, they were either a) mocked or b) told to shut up because they were hurting his chances.
The clearest difference between the two parties is that one comes to the courthouse dressed alike at their guy’s felony trial in support of their sleeping giant while the other spends weeks in panic over one bad night against a known demagogue
If I'd seen an example as glaring as his debate performance, I'd have been screaming.
As is, I'm almost to fuck it just based on that glib interview.
My only hope at this point is that Trump does something unspeakable to Biden and his whole family. He's EARNED it.
Blowing off this same question that people were trying to ask. And now we're here. Democrats should have thought ahead better because the math on this was obvious even from 2020
The roles ARE reversed. Trump falls asleep in public, fails to speak in complete sentences, and tells meandering Grandpa Simpson-esque stories every goddamn week, but faces ZERO pressure from within his own party (or really from the other party!) to prove his mental acuity.
A lot of Republicans did abandon Trump after the Access Hollywood tape (which was much closer to the election) because they never liked him and they figured he'd never bounce back from that. Oops.
But you're absolutely right, they're much more disciplined now than Dems are (and they need to be).
