Finally, the issue also includes a fascinating research symposium on elections in the MENA Region ed. by Luciano Zaccara & includes contributions that cover a wide swathe of countries in the region, including Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Algeria, Tunisia, & Sudan!

Nominations or applications should include a current CV, a proposal (1 page or less) that lays out an editorial vision, including potential ideas for future issues and any planned innovations—including changing the current format or experimenting with new sections.

The work involved includes soliciting section-relevant information, curating and editing content for every issue, producing the final issue (in a high-quality downloadable form), selecting editorial board members as needed, & conducting two editorial meetings per year with the editorial board.

The editorship has the task of overseeing overseeing two issues per calendar year (fall/winter and spring/summer), and has a small stipend per issue for editorial assistance (graduate student).

We also recognize that many have already faced harassment and even doxxing. As some of these attacks have targeted people’s digital identity by buying up the domains associated with their names, we strongly recommend that - if you can - you should purchase your domain name (at the very least, .com).

Key here is the importance of being proactive in taking precautionary measures. That is, it’s a lot harder to fix things than it is to prevent them. We want to support the ability of scholars to engage on issues tied to their expertise and of public importance while minimizing the risks they face.
