There are so many bad takes in this opinion piece and this line “Worried about finances? Seek out financial experts who can evaluate your situation.” might be the worst

It seems like there's a growing chorus of "we've made progress on this, therefore it's not worrisome anymore" with the implication that attention (and resources) are best spent elsewhere

It reads like he's been studying in the School of Bad COVID Takes and is applying the lessons to cancer. I don't love to say negative things about someone else's work, but this is not something that should ever have been published. At all.
