The thing shitlibs on social media miss is that lots of young LGBTQ people ask the simple question βif we canβt trust the democrats to condemn genocide, how can we trust them not to sell out our human rights at home?β
They can decide lgbtq people are a liability any time

A D&D campaign that I GMd and put my heart and soul into wrapped up last night and I'm exhausted but elated. A fantastic group that continually impressed me and made me laugh every single time we got together. I wish I could do more as I had so much fun doing it but I'm burned out to hell now

At the end of the day the question is should there be action taken to hold him accountable or not. And if so, at what point does it become not worth the effort vs. what could happen down the road if he isn't held accountable?

Different hypothetical: if Netanyahu does an oopsie and find himself on the ground in a non-nuclear, European, ICC member state and arrested, do you think the IDF would receive orders from his next-in-command to deploy nuclear assets in response?

All it takes is one.
My while point is there would absolutely be consequences; imo NATO would probably dissolve. But would Paris and Jerusalem, Marseilles and Tel Aviv be turned into radioactive wastelands? My bet is no.

Sure but Israel is not at war with another nuclear power, let alone a Nato-member state. Of course it would be bad. It also wouldn't happen. But in the hypothetical reality that it did, would Israel retaliate by kicking off a nuclear Holocaust? My bet is no, which is my argument.

Well, the Hague in Holland but, yeah, essentially. It's a common tactic that Israel itself uses not infrequently. Deny, obfuscate, pretend that those people weren't actually operating on behalf of your Intel operation, just mercs, etc.

Because folks are getting hung up on France, let's go with a different hypothetical: say Netanyahu screws up and gets caught on the ground in an ICC-member country and is arrested. Do you think Israel nukes someone (anyone) if that were the case?

Would they want to take the chance they'd be retaliated against back in kind? MAD goes both ways.

The hypothetical question was in such a case would it escalate to include the use of nuclear devices which I don't believe it would.

And #2, wasn't thinking of an active shooting war between the two, much more of an intelligence op than a military one. One in which the French (or whatever hypothetical power you'd prefer) could disavow if it went wrong.

To answer #1, it's simply a hypothetical assuming they would want to force the issue which right now you're right they ain't gonna do anything. I was just using it as an example of a Nato nuclear power that isn't the US or UK who have their own special relationships with Israel

I wouldn't imagine it would be an invasion, more along the lines of a seal team 6 situation. Still bloody, still bad, but with enough room for France to disavow if it came to it. I don't think nukes would be involved, there's enough bad without even considering that.

Sure, I agree. I just think that Netanyahu is bluffing and won't nuke Holland for putting out a warrant for his arrest. And I believe that if he is apprehended, those who would be in power in his absence wouldn't be dumb enough to declare war on a Nato country.

The USA is not a member of the ICC so they can't arrest him in NY, they don't have jurisdiction afaik.

Sure and I get that. But at the same time, appeasement to right wing strongmen is never a great strategy either. Not that it matters, the Hague doesn't have the capability to go after him directly, they would need the US, the UK, or France's muscle and the first two are firmly in Netanyahu's camp.

I mean if a squadron of French helicopters arrived blaring their intention to serve an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, sure. With Mossad's recent track record, unsure if they'd see it coming though.

I almost want to argue that removing Netanyahu may have a stabilizing effect considering 70ish% of the country want him to resign but I can definitely commiserate with your point. I just believe anyone who ordered the killing of civilians deserves to be held accountable for those orders
