I want them to be making jokes about how they slept wrong and now their back hurts. I want them to find people they can grow old with. I want them to have their own little life routines and support networks that bring them joy. I want them to think about retirement goals.

it feels like whiplash to be celebrating turning 38 when a trans child won't get to see their next birthday. I just want trans kids to get to grow up. I want them to think about what it's like to be nearly 4 decades old. I want them to look forward their high school reunions. I want them to live.

I'm also considering going with traditional foam instead of memory foam. I think the memory foam may distort too much when it's sat on.
