At the outset of the war Israel was worried Hezbollah was coordinated with Hamas or would otherwise take advantage of its success. Some leaders were advocating an Israeli preemptive attack against Hezbollah, but US pressure and cooler heads prevailed and Israel decided not to attack in Oct. 2/
