A corporate tax paid in stock rather than cash gets around this dwindling tax base problem. The value transferred is the result of dilution from other shareholders, whether tax-exempt or not. We could raise over $1 trillion in a year with this type of tax. More details here: tinyurl.com/mr2dkytr

Back in my happy place: a tax law library! My first time at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation I was a law school student working as a summer tax clerk at a Dutch firm. Now I’ve returned as an associate professor of law, but the thrill is still the same. Each time I find something new.

The @nytimes.com title for this article is SHAMEFUL. They are reporting on companies that are using child labor and they frame it as the COMPANIES “cracking down”??? The companies are the ones who have been profiting from illegal and immoral use of child labor!!

A record number of women were elected to statehouses last year. But in the Southeast, where some legislatures are more than 80% male, representation is lagging as lawmakers pass bills that most impact women, like near-total abortion bans.

Interesting: New Quinnipiac poll has Biden up 3 points over Trump in Pennsylvania, 49-46. In October Trump was up 2 points.

Some over on The Hellsite are saying this isn't good enough, which is surprising. Plus 3 in PA is a fine result

There is an antidote to this harrowing premonition: tax policy. Even better if those taxes are paid in-kind through remittance of equity in the AI to a public trust.
