Every few months, Auckland Uni send me an alumni letter asking for money. I don't even open them because they spend that money fighting staff in court and refusing to protect them as they do their jobs. I'm gonna put my money here instead.

Not so much, I’ve still got the shits from the 90s 😂 Actually I lie, I’m *very taken with everything Ockham does (but yeah, those ain’t for everyday people!) And have friends who live in a beautiful, fairly new apartment building in the city. It cost them $800,000 🤷🏻‍♀️

I lived in mostly two bed apartments in London for five years. It was *great. But the buildings were quality, in terms of both design and materials.

The other thing that worries me is Auckland’s (NZ’s) shocking track record in terms of the quality of buildings. They seem to be built to last about 20 years and I can’t see anything in the changes this govt is making that addresses that.

I’m ok with density, but I hear what people are saying about overcrowding in tiny apartments and the social issues caused. Afraid these minuscule spaces will end up housing highly vulnerable people and create deprivation ghettoes. Not so much moral panic as real concern for the people most affected.
