5 surprising spots on this trip: 1. Dargaville Museum is weirdly delightful 2. The campground in Waipoua Forest is magical 3. Sand dune surfing at Te Paki is exhilarating 4. The Parrot Place in Kerikeri is a lot of fun if you like birds 5. Stop and use the loos in Kawakawa

Northland. There's a roadtrip via SH12 to Dargaville, via Hokianga, over the ferry up to Kaitaia, Cape Reinga, then back via SH10 through Doubtless Bay, Kerikeri, and Bay of Islands, then back to Whangarei and Auckland. There's HEAPS of things to do - can be done in 2 nights, but 3-4 is better.

Honestly, those letters infuriate me, and I have tried and failed to make them stop. I spent thousands to attend in the first place. And now they want more money when their behaviour is unjustifiably terrible on several issues.

Every few months, Auckland Uni send me an alumni letter asking for money. I don't even open them because they spend that money fighting staff in court and refusing to protect them as they do their jobs. I'm gonna put my money here instead.

Last weekend I went absolutely ham cranking out a toy felted giraffe for a friend's daughter who adores giraffes. Got a video yesterday of her hugging and squeezing that thing super-hard. She was very excited about her new friend. Little things eh? Totally worth every individually-applied spot.

It takes a while to get to 5 years. If you get a positive on self swab, (I think) you get a smear. If that is troublesome, you get a colposcopy. Then smears are annual til you test negative a few times consecutively.

Ouch. The chronic conditions is when it's most important eh? Personally it's the 'will I get treatment, or a lecture about being fat?' roulette that does my head in. I never know what their bias will be, and that absolutely affects care.

Exactly. Always a fun time when Dr 1 orders tests and Dr 2 can't understand why those tests were done. Then Dr 3 has an entirely different perspective, and Dr 4 literally doesn't care and refers you to Dr 5 and Dr 6, neither of whom can do anything until you fill in an ACC form (a true story).

It's still a good time to transplant them so try to remove what you need to give the remaining ones space. Then put them back in the soil with around 40-50cm space from other major plants. They're great companions for potatoes, if that's helpful.

I'd space them more in that garden. They get pretty big when they peak (40 x 40 x 80cm tall) around Dec-Jan. They look really happy so I think they'll reach good size if you give them the room.

Came home from town a different way to usual to avoid some roadworks. Ended up stopping at All You Needle (craft store) and Plant Zone Direct (garden center) and accidentally came home with wool and a raspberry plant. The roadworks probably would have been faster and cheaper π
