When the empty ugliness at the centers of power becomes clear to you, if that is a sharp, new, devastating feeling, a good thing to do is to follow the instructions of those far from centers of power who have been seeing, surviving, strategizing & surviving for a long, long time.

I agree. The feeling you mention isn't new to me. I try to listen to those who have been surviving. And, as best I can tell, being in community is the basis for strategies and surviving, and some of us don't have real community and it takes skill and practice and time to be in healthy community.
