Obed Vargas in Seattle is a good example - he's 18 and ready to move up to a better league but since he's about to get a Mexican passport, he's almost certainly going to end up in Liga MX as those clubs are kind of required to overpay for Mexican nationals.

I think this is definitely true but I also think that MLS has really dragged Concacaf up a few notches. The cronyism + nepotism in US Soccer and the insularity + cronyism in FMF are 100% self-inflicted and probably a bigger problem than playing Honduras a bunch.

I don't think the MLS is much of an issue - it's hard to say how much worse it is than the Dutch, Belgian or Portuguse leagues but it's not that much and those countries field very good teams. Ligue 1 might be closer in talent to MLS than it is to the bigger European leagues as well.

Most of the people I have seen/heard calling for him to drop out follow with a list of candidates that typically excludes Harris. This seems like a problem when all viable roads lead to Harris I think.

For me it's a very real fear that what is going to happen is that streets will be re-architected to make them safe for EVs by further restricting access for anyone not in a car. Just permanently locking in car dependency.
