20 odd years ago, we all laughed at the likes of Dan Quayle , then the tea party loonies like Sarah Palin. Thought they were so way out of kilter with respect to sane politicians, that they’d never gain traction. How we got that wrong.

Dan Quayle was just another upper class twit of the year, at least in comparison. god i'm so nostalgic when we thought he was as bad as it got. mind you Reagan and Nixon were already pretty fucking bad
